Streamlines

For Solo Piano

As a verb, streamline refers to the ease of movement found within a system or design. This can be seen on the factory assembly line or within the paths of erosion you see in a river. In Streamlines, this idea is abstracted into a noun, with each box of notation representing a stream amongst the greater texture created.

All streamlines change and evolve over time to allow the path of least resistance to emerge. These changes may surprise us and be unexpected, but they nonetheless carry a similarity to what we have seen before. There is little we can do beyond this besides observing the changes ourselves and accepting them for what they may represent.
